Adjacent to the barn is an arena, ideal for working horses and practicing equestrian disciplines. A large corral with a covered run-in also offers additional space to house horses or other livestock.
Over 180 acres of the ranch is cross-fenced into pastures which have been used to hold horses and livestock. Grass and forage in the pastures are plentiful and the views of the pastures can be enjoyed from the front windows of the home.
The property is located in Magdalena, New Mexico, approximately 1.5 hours south west of Albuquerque and 2.5 miles from Santa Fe. This town and surrounding area is extremely rich in history as it was the main spur for cattle shipping with ranchers bringing more than 10,000 head from surrounding ranches on legendary cattle drives. Evidence of the drives can be found all around town and add to the rich experience of the area. The mountains behind the residence are home to some mining ghost towns and old mines, many of which are still in tact. Days can be spent exploring these old structures.
